…rises from the ashes! Yeah! Connor‘s back on the riding circuit and everybody’s very happy about it, especially Connor! Connor is the first horse of “Kids Horsin’ Around” – he came together with Star about ten years ago. He is an OTTB (off the track race horse – thoroughbred – as evident by his tattooed [...]

Two young riders with Star after they’ve gotten her all shined up!! Everybody is so happy now that winter is over and the horses have almost all but lost their winter coats! It’s been weeks of laboriously grooming and grooming and horse hair flying everywhere!!
Horses and Water Sprinklers!
Posted in Horses on April 20, 2009 | Leave a Comment »
It was an unseasonably hot day today – 96 degrees!! Put horses in the turn out to play and put the water sprinklers on. They loved it! Like a bunch of little kids they ran in and out of the water and then rolled in the mud for good measure!

Doggone Horse!!!

I usually don’t let beginner riders on Max…(especially without a helmet)…But Lilly is an exception! (She later rode bareback!) Actually, this dog is not a beginner. Lilly, Jessika’s dog, has been out trail riding, so backyard riding at Kids Horsin’ Around was nothin’ for this “dog on horse”!

Bye, Bye, Silver!

Bad news at Kids Horsin’ Around today. Silver’s owners emailed and want to take him home much earlier than we had planned (years earlier!)…they’ll be picking him up tomorrow! Too bad! We had big plans for that litttle guy and he will be sorely missed. When God closes a door, he always opens a [...]
Ooops! My Bad!!

Ok, right off the bat, I committed the number one cardinal sin for bloggers…too much time elapsed between my posts. My last post was 2/13 and here it is 2/19, that’s……6 days!! Yikes!! I’ve been busy, honest! I can justify my lapse in proper protocol, hear me out! Well, it’s been raining and my trainer [...]
Rain, Rain, Go Away!
Posted in Horses, Max on February 9, 2009 | 2 Comments »
It’s raining like crazy today and everybody’s wet and soggy! Lessons and training cancelled. But, I have to remember, as I look around the ‘net, many horses are standing in frozen snow, dealing with ice, or maybe with horrific bush fires as in Australia. That one hits close to home since we also have our share of [...]
