I decided it was time to find out what an incredible race horse Jack had been! You know, the kind that made thousands of dollars for his owner, and then to be just cast aside? Well, Jack’s story turns out not to be that spectacular. Starting at the Jockey Club’s website, I submitted his tattoo number I10751 for a “Deluxe Tattoo Research” package that includes a 4-generation pedigree, racing summary, tabulated race record, lifetime starts, owner information and sales history all for $50. Two days later, I got Jack’s racing name, “Reprieved”* and race record: unraced!! Well, honestly, no surprise there…Jack is so laid back, it’s no wonder he never made it out the starting gate! Gotta love him! He’ll make a sweet, laid back dressage horse, too!
